Hello Sunshine x Être Announce First-Ever Teen Advisory Board

Sometimes, you’re just meant to be friends.

Sometimes visions align and a mutual belief in the power of next gen girls is so strong, that you literally collide and become friends.

That’s what happened nearly a year ago when I met women at CANDLE MEDIA℠ who, in turn, introduced me to women at Hello Sunshine . We started chatting and, well…couldn’t stop.

What was my favorite part about launching Être? Bringing girls face to face with game-changing leaders. Specifically, female leaders eager to hear what girls have to say and ready to springboard their ideas in impactful ways.

What did they love about Hello Sunshine? The unwavering commitment to championing women’s stories – empowering a community to grow and find joy together. As their website notes, “to shine a light on where women are now and help them chart a new path forward.”

What could we do together? Bring girls into your boardroom, I suggested. Think bigger, they said.

And then they did.

Announced last week on International Women’s Day, Hello Sunshine has selected 22 Être girls between the ages of 13 and 21 to form the first-ever Hello Sunshine Teen Advisory Board. And in doing so, they have done something different from any other company hosting us in their boardrooms – Hello Sunshine created a unique space and built meaningful roles for these girls.

What will they do on this Board? Like any good Board members, they will keep their work confidential. And while they do, they will offer unfiltered advice, authentic reaction, and original ideas. They will brainstorm and bounce ideas across 22 schools in ten states with one goal in mind – to be heard.

Because Hello Sunshine is listening.

“At Hello Sunshine, we’re committed to uplifting the next generation of women and giving them a seat at the table,” said Maureen Polo, Head of Direct to Consumer at Hello Sunshine. “Partnering with Être to launch our first-ever Teen Advisory Board is an exciting step in ensuring young voices are not only heard but truly shape the future. We can’t wait to see what we accomplish together."

What does this mean for today's girls?

It means that sometimes boardroom visits become actual advisory board seats.

Sometimes companies not only see the potential of the next gen – they want to power it IRL.

Sometimes, you’re honestly meant to be friends.

Looking forward with gratitude and joy,

Illana
