Meet Katie Stagliano
(aka @katieskrops)
Meet Katie Stagliano, a teen who started a hunger relief initiative called Katie's Krops when she was just 9 years old! Yep! From a small after-school gardening project to a national non-profit, there are now 100 Katie's Krops gardens growing in schools across the country, and last year over 39,000 lbs of food was donated to soup kitchens, shelters & food banks! Katie became the Grand Prize winner of the inaugural General Mills Feeding Better Futures Scholars Program, and we HAD to learn more! Être interviewed Katie to learn all about how she got started (a 40 lb cabbage), her thoughts on food rescue and where she's headed. Check out our interview, the video & the photos below–and to get more involved follow @katieskrops everywhere!
