Day of the Girl 2024 - A Thank You Note to Our Mentors in Advance
It's coming.
This week, on October 11th, International Day of the Girl 2024 will be here. And given all the ways mentors are pulling out the stops to celebrate, we just wanted to say thank you in advance.
Because thank you notes matter. And as busy as the next few days will be, we want to make sure our gratitude is shouted from the rooftops. Or skyscraper tops.
Thank you...
...to our mentors at The Female Quotient for inviting three teen Être Board members to join me on a panel at ADWEEK on Tuesday, October 8th, to talk about the impact of early boardroom visits and the power of mentorship;
...to The Female Quotient again and their rockstar female network for teaming up with Être to launch their brand new INpowerment campaign on Thursday, October 10th! Hosting us at W Hotel Times Square, pairing girls with mentors matching their career requests and swearing us to secrecy about everything else (stay tuned, we'll fill you in), women across all industries will take over Times Square; and
...to our mentors at Nasdaq for throwing the party on Friday, October 11th - the official Day of the Girl! Welcoming us first on their rooftop and then in Studio A to watch the Closing Bell ceremony, leading women at NASDAQ will join more mentors from Morgan Stanley and Luminary on girl-led panels to discuss financial confidence and independence.
We cannot wait.
As stated by the United Nations, this year's Day of the Girl theme is Vision for the Future. It seems to me that today's mentors understood the assignment.
What could be more perfect than bringing girls up on the ADWeek NYC stage, to the top of Times Square and then to the NASDAQ podium to magnify their vision for the future?
Thank you to every mentor and role model participating in this week's events - for giving global girls a lens through which their futures look bigger and brighter than ever.
We're grateful already.
Looking forward with excitement,
Illana
ÊXTRAS: Three cool facts about Day of the Girl you won't want to miss: On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare October 11 the International Day of the Girl, spotlighting girls’ rights and the challenges faced by global girls; international days and weeks are established by the UN to promote action and awareness; and according to UNICEF there are over 600 million adolescent girls in the world today..."equipped with the right resources and opportunities, they will be the largest cohort of female leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and change-makers the world has ever seen."
